AD OF THE DAY
In a twist on the small donor solicitations that she first tried in March, new online ads from Senator Clinton this week ask for different amounts from different audiences.
“Contribute $50 now.”
“Contribute $5 now.”
What’s the difference? Maybe, plenty.
Online display ads using Flash from the Hillary Clinton campaign began to appear last night at the web sites of The New York Post and whitepages.com, asking for contributions of $50.
In ads that began appearing the same day, web surfers at local sites in Colorado, Wisconsin, Ohio and Indiana were asked to contribute $5.
Besides the ask, the ads were otherwise identical.
The $50 ads ran April 23 only and only on whitepages.com and nypost.com.
The $5 ads also started last night and they continue to run today, at the following domains:
denverpost.com colorado
jsonline.com Milwaukee, Wisconsin
whitepages.com
columbusdispatch.com
indystar.com
Take a look at the ads in question and see for yourself: Are these ads worth $50 to you, or only $5?

Perhaps it’s a little too early to tell which approach is working best, but I’m sure there is more to be told about this one.

Clinton campaign puts the “small” in small donors
