When you use the word torture in your ad you’re going to get attention. The Commission on Accountability may be counting on it.

Co-sponsored by Amnesty International and 18 other organizations, the following 300x250 ad began appearing April 24:

We found the ad in 26 domainscovering a breadth of sports, entertainment and news sites..   Their web page starts plainly. “Waterboarding. Slamming into walls. Excruciating physical positions. The United States tortured detainees after September 11, 2001. Make sure this does not happen again. Call on the President to create a non-partisan commission to investigate the torture and abuse of detainees.”

We found the ad in Washington DC political domains and the local site in Billings, Montana.   Their web page says “the National Nurses Organizing Committee/California Nurses Association (NNOC/CNA), the nation's largest RN union and professional association... announces a national online advertising campaign beginning that calls on key Congressional leaders to protect the public – not the profit motives of the insurance industry – through a system of guaranteed, single-payer healthcare reform. The ads are also sponsored by the Massachusetts Nurses Association.”
